Petite Casbah

Alger. Juin 1955. Khadidja a quitté la Kabylie pour rejoindre son grand frère Malek à Alger. En ce premier jour algérois, et en attendant de pouvoir être scolarisée, elle l’accompagne au marché où il a un petit étal de fruits et légumes. Mais la journée ne se passe pas comme prévu : suite à une altercation avec la police, Malek est arrêté. Khadidja se retrouve seule. Heureusement, Lyes, enfant des rues débrouillard et malin, la recueille dans son abri de fortune bricolé sur les toits de la Casbah. C’est là qu’elle rencontre Philippe et Ahmed, deux enfants de Bab-el-Oued qui viennent ici après l’école. Les trois garçons vont l’aider à s’installer et, surtout, à déchiffrer un message codé transmis par Malek. Ensemble, ils mènent l’enquête à travers la ville et retrouvent la trace de la mystérieuse « Oranaise » qui pourrait peut-être les aider à libérer le grand frère de Khadidja. ---- Algiers, 1955. One day at the market, Khadidja’s older brother Malek is arrested by the police. From their little hut in the Casbah, Khadidja and her friends Lyes, Philippe and Ahmed are going to do everything they can to find him.
